Job Description:

We are seeking a capable WordPress developer to join our team for either part-time or full-time work. This position will focus on WordPress development tasks, including the use of site editors/builders to execute new site builds and update/edit existing websites. The ideal candidate needs to be flexible, organized, and detail-oriented. This is an entry-level position, so extensive work experience is optional, but familiarity with editing WordPress sites is a must.

Responsibilities:

• Build and update websites using WordPress and editors such as the WordPress Block Editor, Elementor, Divi, etc.
• Collaborate with design and marketing teams to implement new page designs in WordPress.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic website issues.
• Maintain best practices for accessibility and security.

Requirements:

• WordPress Proficiency - Capable with WordPress development, including block-based techniques and visual site editors.
• Strong fundamental skills with modern HTML and CSS, including standards-based HTML5 and CSS3 techniques are a plus.

--- This is a developer role. Candidates need to be able to take a PSD site design mockup and implement it in WordPress, including theme customization, custom CSS, plugin configuration, etc.

--- Use of generative AI in this role will be minimal or non-existent. It can be a tool, but this is not a "vibe coding" position.

• Capable of learning new techniques and keeping up to date with web technologies and industry trends.
• Organization - Must be able to keep track of site content and assets, and able to prioritize tasks across multiple client sites.
• Strong Communication Skills - This position will be working closely with other team members and a senior developer. Must be able to communicate with clarity both verbally and in writing.

Optional Skills/Traits

• More advanced web development experience (JavaScript, PHP)
• Familiarity with accessibility standards (screen reader compatibility, WCAG standards)
• Understanding site speed (Core Web Vitals, etc.)
• Advanced WordPress theme and plugin development (theme development from scratch, WordPress hooks, API work, plugin authoring, etc.)
• Professional experience developing websites
• College degree or other accreditation related to web development

Must be willing to commute to our Greenville Office, in order to meet with and collaborate with the rest of the team.
